Welcome to picturesque University Place, Washington located in the Pacific Northwest with spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains, Mt. Rainier and the Puget Sound. It is approximately a 25 minute drive, 15 miles, to Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
About University Place, Washington
While University Place is located in Pierce County, in 1995 it was independently incorporates. Since that time, the City has been growing in leaps and bounds. It is now home to more than 32,840 residents. It has a great transit system and is easily accessible to I-5.
In the 1880’s, University Place was originally to be part of the University of Puget Sound’s Campus. However, the expansion of the University fell through, but the name University Place remained. University Place is home to Chambers Bay, a first class golf course with a wondrous view of Puget Sound. In fact, Chambers Bay has played host to many of the world’s champion golfers and in 2015 will host the U.S. Championship. Chambers Bay also offers exquisite views and food from their restaurant which is open seven days a way. The City is run by a City Manager and Council. University Place is a very outdoor friendly city with many parks, walking trails, bicycle paths. It has many quaint shops and great restaurants. University Place is located in the University Place School District and offers an excellent curriculum to it’s’ students. University Place is made up of four elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school.
University Place is a wonderful place to raise a family, play and live. Come, experience life with those of us who live here.
