Parkland is also the home of Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) for those seeking to continue their education.  PLU offers liberal arts and professional school educations.  Programs range from the School of Business, an excellent Art and Music Program, Science and Medicine and Athletics.  The school has approximately 3,500 students and a staff of 236 full time professors.  They are located on a beautiful woodland setting because of it’s close proximity to Tacoma (known as the City of Destiny).  Tacoma is an international city offering great indoor and outdoor opportunities and first class medical facilities.  Fun adventures for singles as well as families. Activities in this progressive city are ongoing throughout the year and include the Tacoma Art Museum, the Museum of Glass, Lemay’s American Car Museum and Children’s Museum.  Points of attraction in and around the Tacoma area are the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts, Destiny Harbor Tours,  Northwest Trek Wildlife Park (Eatonville, WA), Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the Puyallup Fair (Puyallup, WA) and many more. The City of Parkland would welcomes you to the Pacific Northwest.
