Graham is the perfect community for those who long for a rural community atmosphere. The estimated population of Graham is about 23,500.  Since 2000, it has grown in popularity and has experienced a population growth of over 168 percent.  It is one of the fastest growing areas of Pierce Country. The average household income is about $55,000 with the median cost per house at around $291,000.

Graham Public Schools are part of the Bethel School District which is the 13 largest in the state covering 215 miles. This school district is headquartered in Spanaway, Washington.  This school district strives to make sure that each student receives “what is best for them.”  The City of Graham hosts nine K – 12 public schools within the city limits.  There is also one private school, Bethel Baptist Christian School (K4-12).  The nine public schools consist of: Centennial Elementary School (K – 7), Graham Elementary School (PK – 6), Kapowsin Elementary School (K-6), Nelson Elementary School (PK – 6), North Star Elementary School (K – 6), Rocky Ridge Elementary School (PK -8). Cougar Mountain Junior High School (7 – 9), Frontier Junior High School (7 – 10) and Liberty Junior High which opened in September 2010. Graham Kapowin High School (10 to 12).

Adult education is encouraged and supported in this community with many available options to continue education.   The following colleges and university strive to provide excellence in continuing education: Pacific Lutheran University (Parkland), University of Washington, St. Martin’s University, Tacoma School of the Arts, Clover Park Technical College, Pierce College Fort Steilacoom, Pierce College in Puyallup, Covenant Bible Seminary, and college classes at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.  The Graham Library is open to the public and is located at 9202 224th Street E.  The library’s phone number is (253) 847-4030.

Recreation is abundant in and around Graham and Puget Sound.  Graham has many wonderful parks and recreational facilities.  Frontier Park is a very popular attraction for the residents of Graham.  The park, itself, is used for many activities including: the Highland Games, Pierce County Fair, equestrian shows and many other recreational activities.

There is a new Frontier Park Playground that was created by students and Graham community members.  Pioneer Ball Park is a 300 acre park with children’s playgrounds, horse stables and barbecue and picnic areas.    A swimming pool is available in the summer months.  Woodland Park is 80 acres and hosts baseball and soccer fields. Mount Rainier National Park offers: hiking, biking, fishing, camping and a variety of summer time activities.  Snowshoeing and cross country skiing are offered during the winter months as well.

The areas surrounding Graham offer residents and visitors many wonderful and exciting adventures all year long.  There is something for everyone within the cities of Puyallup, Tacoma, Seattle, and Olympia which are all within an hours drive.
