SeaTac is an American city in southern King County, Washington, and an outlying suburb of Seattle, Washington. "SeaTac" is a portmanteau of Seattle and Tacoma.

SeaTac is a wonderfully vibrant, on the move city, located in King County, Washington. This city offers much diversity and excitement to residents and visitors alike. The City boundaries surround the Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (approximately 3 square miles (7.8 km2) in area), which is owned and operated by the Port of Seattle. The city includes the communities of Angle Lake, Bow Lake, McMicken, and Riverton, which were established before the city's incorporation.
SeaTac was recently incorporated in 1990 and covers an area of 10 square miles. As of the 2010 census, the population was 26,909 and the median household income was $47,600. The average home price is $373,975.00.
SeaTac is located north of Tacoma, Washington and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The commute is an approximate 32 mile drive (about a 45 minute commute) to JBLM along the I-5 corridor for those considering making this their home.
SeaTac continues to keep their seven city parks and two community centers up-to-date with a variety of improvements and offer a wide variety of activities and classes for youth and adults. Recent improvements include adding outdoor basketball courts, a skate park, playground equipment, picnic shelters and much more. Park events include the annual International Festival and Parade, Music in the Park Series in the summer months, and Shakespeare in the Park.
Angel Lake is a small 90 acre L shaped lake, with a 10 acre park on the western shoreline. The lake is well-stocked with a variety of fish including rainbow trout and is open year round. In addition to the fishing pier, this park offers a picnic area, boat launch and swimming area.
The Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden/Japanese Garden is an exquisite, relaxing get away of pure enjoyment. The Garden is located in close to the 165 acre North SeaTac Park. SeaTac Community Center is a 27,000 foot facility that has activities for all ages. SeaTac’s park system also includes Valley Ridge Park and Valley Ridge Community Center, McMicken Heights Park, Des Moines Creek Park, Earthworks Park and Grandview Park. Take your pick of any of these beautiful parks and you are bound to have a wonderful time.
Shopping around SeaTac can be done at several wonderful locations: Westfield’s South Center Mall offers approximately five million acres of shopping paradise. Des Moines Marian Shopping District is filled with quaint shops and great places to grab a bite to eat. Kent Street Station with all its charm is located next to historic downtown Kent. There are nine acres of wonder at the Great Wall Shopping Mall.
The school district operates as Highline Public Schools and is located at 15675 Ambaum Blvd. S. W., Burien, WA 98166. Phone: 206-433-2217. This district is large, educating approximately 17,824 students, 2,431 special education students, and 3,764 English language learners. There are approximately 977 teachers. The vision of the District is that “Every student graduates prepared for college, career and citizenship.” The Highline District has 18 grade schools, four middle schools, and 12 high schools. There is also one skills center, one early childhood center and eight other instructional programs. The Highline School District strives to be innovative, dedicated to students, willing to tackle tough education challenges, and strengthened by the cultural diversity of our students and families.
