The City of Lakewood welcomes you and your family to our area! Lakewood, Washington is located in Pierce County and is situated around four lakes (Lake Steilacoom, Waughop Lake, American Lake and Gravelly Lake).  Points of interest in Lakewood include:  Lakewood Gardens, Lakewood Playhouse, Western State Hospital, Fort Steilacoom and Thornewood Castle.  Lakewood offers exquisite views of Mount Rainer.

Lakewood’s park system includes six city parks and six neighborhood parks.  Lakewood offers easy access many great attractions such as the Fort Steilacoom Golf Course, Meadow Park Golf Course, Grand Prix Raceway, Lakewold Gardens, Fort Lewis Military Museum, Lakewood Game Refuge, Lakewood Veterans Memorial, Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, and much more. Lakewood has a population of approximately 58,000, including many military.  Lakewood is located on the eastern border of Joint Base Lewis-McChord.  It is a hop, skip and jump commute to the Base (about a 16 minute drive [seven and a half miles].  Many of Lakewood residents are employed on Lewis-McChord (which is the third largest employer in Washington State). The public school system is operated under the Clover Park School District.  CPSD is comprised of 17 elementary schools, four middle schools and two high schools.  There is one alternative high school and two specialty schools.  There is also one preparatory school for grades 6 to 12 – Harrison Preparatory School.
